What is Traffic Authority?

What is Traffic Authority

Traffic Authority is an MLM with a membership site that offers training, tools and “done-for-you” internet traffic packages. The key thing to remember is that Traffic Authority is first, and foremost, a multi-level marketing company. The product it offers is incidental. Keep reading to see the Devil in the details.

What is Traffic Authority?

Traffic Authority is an MLM with a membership site that promotes training, tools and web traffic packages. The product it offers is incidental. Traffic Authority is the reincarnation of a previous MLM company called Infinite Leverage which was owned by the same people.

The fact they had to recreate their business with a new name is a massive red flag. Later in this article, I explain why this is so alarming when I reveal the historical association between MLMs and Ponzi schemes.

Traffic authority has three primary products, Traffic Optimizer, Traffic Academy, and Traffic Packages.

  • Traffic Optimizer is a set of tools intended to optimize conversions and track and manage traffic.
  • Traffic Academy is video training about email marketing, solo ads, social media and video marketing.
  • Traffic packages are done-for-you traffic for the United States and Canada.

Just Another MLM Selling the Dream.

What is Traffic Authority

Traffic Authority mostly promotes their so-called “opportunity” to make lots of money by selling Traffic Authority. They pitch the dream.

Like most multilevel marketing companies, there are different levels of compensation depending on the level the member has purchased.

Before a member can earn commissions, they must first become a reseller by purchasing the Reseller License for $47 a month. A Reseller License allows them to promote the Traffic Authority products.

However, even with a reseller license, a member can only earn commissions on products that they have purchased.

How Much Does Traffic Authority Cost?

You can join Traffic Authority for free, but the free membership is extremely limited and has no earning potential. The free membership appears to be little more than a marketing ploy that permits Traffic Authority to capture your email address.

The basic paid membership is $27 a month. The Traffic Academy training is $97 a month. Add these fees to the reseller’s license and you’re paying $171 a MONTH before you get started!

In addition to the monthly membership fees, a member can purchase various traffic packages. The price of these packages ranges from about $200 to over $8,000.

Why I don’t recommend Traffic Authority.

I explain in more detail later, but here, in a nutshell, are the reasons I don’t recommend Traffic Authority.

  • Traffic Authority is NOT suitable for newbies.
  • Traffic Authority preys on the newbies’ ignorance.
  • Traffic Authority pitches greed.
  • Traffic Authority is an MLM (Success with an MLM demands massive ongoing recruitment and team building by exploiting people’s ignorance and greed).
  • Online traffic is easily faked. There is no way of knowing if the traffic purchased through Traffic Authority is any better than cheap traffic from Fiverr, a robot or a third world country.
  • Traffic Authority requires large monthly fees to use the program.

Traffic Authority is Not Suitable for Newbies.

Traffic Authority is NOT newbie friendly. A newbie has no business buying traffic. Buying traffic is an advanced online strategy. If you don’t know what you’re doing, you can lose hundreds of dollars in a hurry and have nothing to show for it.

If you try to get traffic through Traffic Authority, it will cost you a lot of money before the first person visits your website.

When you buy traffic through Traffic Authority, you are paying a grossly inflated price because commissions for an upline and a downline are factored into the price.

Traffic Authority Preys on the Newbie’s Ignorance.

Traffic Authority preys on the newbie’s ignorance and charges the heck out of a newbie before the newbie gets anything in return.

A seasoned online marketer won’t go anywhere near an MLM, and they darn sure aren’t going to buy traffic through an MLM.

Traffic Authority Pitches Greed.

The fastest way to get scammed is to let yourself get greedy.

We all have a greed button buried in our brain. Once our greed button is pressed, it is impossible for us to make a wise decision.

Let me put this another way. When our greed button is pushed, we become stupid. The greed button IS the stupid button. It’s the way the human brain is wired.

The folks at Traffic Authority know this. That’s why they pound the heck out of your greed button from the very beginning by pitching the dream of making lots of money.

Traffic Authority is an MLM.

Traffic Authority is an MLM. The multi-level industry evolved from the pyramid schemes that existed before the 1970’s.

A pyramid scheme, otherwise known as a Ponzi scheme, is a scam where people are persuaded to pay money for nothing.

Business man with clown face counting money symbolic of Inbox Dollars unethical business practices.

Usually, people are persuaded to pay money for nothing because they are sold a dream and believe they will make lots of money if they join.

That’s a key factor in pyramid schemes, they sell a dream, they exploit people’s greed and desperation.

Not surprisingly, these schemes are hugely profitable because there is no product, just pure money flowing from the bottom of the organization to the top. The people at the top make a lot of money very fast while the people at the bottom get screwed.

These schemes are usually short-lived because, at some point, people discover the scam. Or, they are shut down by authorities.

In the 1970’s in the United States, an organization called “Dare to Be Great” was determined to be a pyramid scheme because they had no product. This case established the legal definition of a pyramid scheme in the United States.

Now companies that wish to exploit the huge profit potential of a pyramid scheme are careful to stay within the law by offering a product. These companies are called Multi-level Marketing companies, aka MLM. MLM is a costly and inefficient business model that channels money to the top tier.

Statistically, very few people make money with MLM. By far, most people lose money in MLM and quickly drop out.

Traffic Authority has a product and so probably does not fit the legal definition of a pyramid scheme.

However, it’s product is grossly over-priced and probably worth very little. What is the difference between charging someone $8000 for nothing and charging someone $8000 for $5 worth of traffic? Not much.

Like a pure pyramid scheme, Traffic Authority sells the dream of getting rich.

Traffic Authority’s relentless exploitation of people’s greed and desperation is predatory behavior consistent with a pyramid scheme.

The only reason a person would pay the outrageous fees and prices Traffic Authority demands is if they believe they would make more money in return. The truth is, they won’t.

Once you consider that Traffic Authority might be a thinly disguised pyramid scheme, you can understand why they changed the name from Infinite Leverage to Traffic Authority.

People stopped buying into Infinite Leverage because they saw it for what it was.

At some point, they will stop buying into Traffic Authority too. Then the founders will probably cut & paste a new name on the same old scheme and continue taking people’s money.

Traffic Can Be Easily Faked.

There is no way to know the quality of generated internet traffic until after it converts or fails to convert.

Traffic can be faked with robots or by paying people pennies to click on an ad. Neither one is going to convert.

Fake Traffic II

Sending traffic to a website is easy and cheap. Anyone can buy traffic on Fiverr for a fraction of the cost Traffic Authority charges.

When you buy traffic through Traffic Authority, there is no way to know what you are getting. You might be paying hundreds, if not thousands, of dollars for something you could get on Fiverr for five bucks.

Traffic Authority Requires High Monthly Fees.

Before you can make money with Traffic Authority, you must first purchase a Reseller’s License for $47 a month, plus $27 for membership.

Why in the world would you pay someone $74 a month so you can sell their stuff and make a profit for them?

Amazon doesn’t demand its affiliates pay them a monthly fee. Neither does any other legitimate affiliate program. They don’t pitch false dreams of getting rich either.

That’s crazy. Unfortunately, that is just the beginning of Traffic Authority’s self-serving craziness.

Traffic Authority Complaints.

The complaints I found about Traffic Authority are mostly about low-quality traffic that doesn’t convert, being pressured to buy expensive traffic packages, poor support and difficulty canceling.

“After subscribing, I was charged twice . . . I reached out to their support department via email. There was no reply at all. . . I continued to be charged even after I had requested a refund and cancellation. I looked in every tab on the site for a cancellation button and there is none. I had to cancel my credit card from the bank to stop Traffic Authority from charging of my card $97 each month. I’m convinced this is a scam.” Cathy (Source:moneymakingtruth.com)

The following complaints are about Infinite Leverage, the previous incarnation of Traffic Authority.

“The downline is paying for the upline. It’s a money game. The product doesn’t matter.” (Source: Murphy, workfromhometeaching.com)

“I would caution anyone interested in this MLM to stay away. The traffic is very poor and the tools are low quality. The system does not convert due to poor traffic. It will never deliver the numbers required to make money.” (Source: Mak, workfromhometeaching.com)

Traffic Authority Positive Reviews.

The only positive reviews I found for Traffic Authority are from affiliates trying to earn commissions. They drank the cool aid.

  1. Hi Gary,

Interesting read. I think you’re right about traffic packages not being much good for newbies. It’s one thing getting traffic to your site, but it’s another thing convincing someone to buy your product.

Do you know how these traffic packages are generated and how they work? Is it by paid advertising? I know you said you can buy traffic on Fiverr but in what form? surely it can’t all be by robots is it?

I think you’ve convinced me not to sign up to this, it’s way too much of a risk.

    1. Hi, Craig!

I honestly don’t know how the traffic is generated with Traffic Authority. However, since Traffic Authority makes no claims to the quality of the traffic, my guess is it is indeed robot generated.

The point to remember is that Traffic Authority is first and foremost a thinly veiled pyramid scheme masquerading as an MLM. The product is incidental. Traffic Authority is set up to make the lion’s share of it’s revenue through recruiting people into the scheme, not from selling traffic packages.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  2. Wow…this is a very captivating post that you have written here, Gary. I am very intrigued by your review on the subject Traffic Authority. Although I never heard of them, after reading your review, well thank you for the warning Gary. I, really looking forward to reading more of your future post. Well done!

    1. Hi, Syikien!

Thanks for your kind words. I’m glad you read my post on Traffic Authority before getting involved. That could have been a very costly mistake.

      All the best,

      Gary

  3. Traffic authority or another program which is included in the list of MLM will not be in my life dictionary because it simply not a reliable business to operate, plus the common and only way to earn money with this program is to find another people to get under you. MLM will eventually form a pyramid type of scheme which i hate a lot because the upper pyramid section just keep relaxing while people under them work like hell.

  4. I absolutely enjoy your truthfulness!

The change of business name is definitely a red flag. The truth can be brutal and in this case damaging, but rightly so!

The world does not have any short supply of scammers. I am glad you put this one to rest for me and others.

I’ll be sure to spread the word!

    1. Thanks for stopping by. I appreciate your comment about Traffic Authority. You are so right, there is no shortage of scammers. The internet brought out the worse of the bunch too. I can’t keep up.

      All the best,

      Gary

  5. $171 per month before I even get started? What a con! As you say, the fact that this is another product renamed, that’s a huge red flag right there. Compare to something like Wealthy Affiliate, for example, which has had the same name for the whole time because it has such a good reputation.

But it’s really shocking that they try to upsell you to the tune of $8000. That’s the biggest upselling funnel I have ever seen, and I have seen a lot of them!

    1. Hi, Marcus!

You are so right. It costs a heck of a lot and you don’t even know if the traffic is any good, which can only mean it’s not any good. Traffic Authority is a huge waste of money.

You bring up a good point about how they have changed their name. You know they’re hiding something. As you mentioned, if they had a good reputation they wouldn’t have to change names. In fact, it would be foolish to change names. On the other hand, if they have a bad reputation, there’s a reason.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  6. It looks like Traffic Authority uses very subtle tactics to trick innocent visitors. I appreciate your warning that Traffic Authority is not what it appears to be.

I agree, they do not reveal the quality of the traffic either. Like you pointed out, it could just be junk traffic and probably is.

I like what you wrote about wealthy affiliate? Does it not have up sells?

    1. Hi, AndyBoachie!

The best traffic is organic traffic from the search engines. If you have the funds and want to purchase traffic, it’s best to run a PPC campaign with the search engines. Buying bulk traffic is a waste of money.

You asked about Wealthy Affiliate. There are only two membership levels with Wealthy Affiliate, the Free starter membership and the paid membership which is $49 a month.

Upsells are unethical. Any marketer who hits you with an upsell should be avoided.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  7. Thanks for telling me the truth about Traffic Authority. I’m trying to learn how to make money online and when I first read about Traffic Authority I thought it would be an easy way to get traffic to my website. I didn’t know it was an MLM and that the traffic might be cheap traffic from Fiverr. How do you know if it’s good traffic or not?

    1. Hi, Paul!

The best way to get traffic to your website is with quality content that helps people. This will draw organic traffic from the search engines which is the best traffic of all. Other than that, you can use pay per click to bring paid traffic, but this can get expensive.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  8. Thank you posting this review of Traffic Authority. I had never heard of it before reading this, but now thanks to your review I will definitely stay far away from it. I don’t like MLM companies especially the ones that try to scam you. The fact that the owners had a similar one called Infinite Leverage is a huge red flag as you said. I will not waste my hard earned money on this.

    1. Hi, Brian!

I’m glad your found my article about Traffic Authority in time. It’s a scam through and through.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  9. Hi Gary,

Traffic Authority sounds to me like a money making machine for the creators of the system. it also sounds like they have studied “How to win friends and Influence People.” What I don’t understand is why anyone would pay a company for traffic.

I believe this defeat the objective of MLM, my understanding is that an MLM company has legit products such as health products which each member are required to sell to make a small profit and if they want to make real money, they would recruit a team of people to do the same and they would then make a percentage of each team member’s efforts.

That being said, I don’t see how Traffic Authority would be classified as a MLM company.

    1. Hi, Antilena!

You’re right, Traffic Authority is a money machine for the guys at the top. It is an MLM that relies heavily on recruiting others into the so-called opportunity. The traffic packages are the product.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  10. This is a great review. Quite thorough and informative. I saw the name of the programme “Traffic Authority” and immediately became excited because of what I thought it could potentially do for my website. I guess that’s how these companies prey on the ignorant who see any opportunity and want to try. But thank God for reviews like these that give real information.

    1. Hi, LindseySam!

Thank you for your kind words. It’s interesting that the title “Traffic Authority” caught you attention. I’m sure it was designed to do just that.

I’ve been in copy writing a long time, but I continue to marvel at the power of words to influence and persuade. Something I’ve discovered while exposing online scams is that the less value a product has the more they must rely on hype and false promises. They are, after all, selling nothing more than a pig in a poke so their story has to be good.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  11. Hi Gary, I do appreciate the info, I have been tempted to check out site offering to generate traffic, but for some reason never went any further than just reading about the business, guess I have some pretty good instincts after all.
This is a great post and I especially like the video, glad that you found Wealthy Affiliate and you are right there is money to be made ethically. Good Luck to you.
    Wanda!

    1. Hi, Wanda!

The best traffic is organic traffic, but if you want to buy traffic you will do much better with buying ads on the search engines. That is an advanced skills and gets expensive fast, but once you learn how to do you can get excellent results and make a consistent profit.

Programs like Traffic Authority will only cost you money without any beneficial result. Traffic Authority is designed to appear as if it is offering something valuable in exchange for people’s money, but really it’s charging a high premium for junk traffic that doesn’t convert to sales. It’s a loser.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  12. Hi, thank you for this text. I absolutely agree with your statements about artificially generated traffic. The practice is what shows if it is worth or not. I do not believe in the schemes that offers you traffic. This does not convert.

These guys from Traffic Authority are really not modest. They want $74 per month? This is way too much, and above all this is indeed crazy. Scam, you are right, stay away from this.

    1. Hi, Jovo!

You are so right about fake traffic. Unfortunately, by the time someone realizes the traffic is junk and meaningless, they’ve already paid for it.

I think the fundamental problem when falling for scams like Traffic Authority is the buyer is really trying to take the easy path to making money online. Or, they think they are taking the easy path. Instead of learning how to generate quality traffic with pay per click advertising, they choose to pay someone else to do it for them. Big mistake!

The best way to generate traffic on demand is with pay per click advertising, but that’s an advance strategy. A newbie should first master organic search traffic. The best place to learn these skills is at Wealthy Affiliate.

      Thanks for stopping by Jovo.

      Gary

  13. Gary, Thank you for reviewing ‘Traffic Authority’ i have seen their names pop up a few times to join there program but every time i had a look for myself. All the warning lights started flashing. I’m glad i came across this review to 100% confirm my first initial reaction was right.

There are so many MLM programs just like this scamming good people. I think we just need to be really careful out there.

All the best and thank you for the insightful review.

    1. Hi, Vinnie!

      Thanks for stopping by.

Yes, Traffic Authority is a real stinker. Buying traffic from anywhere is questionable. The best way to get traffic to your website is to either create great content that attracts organic traffic from the search engines or manage your own Pay Per Click ad campaigns. You can learn how to do this at Wealthy Affiliate and there’s a free starter membership so you can check it out without spending a dime.

      All the best,

      Gary

  14. Hi Gary, I’ve had a blog for over four months now my traffic is almost non-existent.

Traffic authority was starting to seem like the answer but something didn’t sit quite right with me about it which is why I decided to dig a little deeper and how I ended up here.

I have to be honest, what started off seeming like the answer to my prayers, quickly turned into disappointment when you revealed that it was little more than an MLM.

I’ve been involved with this stuff before and have no desire to go rushing back.

May I ask, at what point would you think I should start seeing traffic and do you have any recommendations on how I could improve it?

    1. Hi, Lee!

Thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you found my article in time. Like you, I’ve had some MLM experience and it wasn’t good.

About traffic to your site; Do not buy traffic. Drawing traffic to your site takes time. The more posts you have on your site the more traffic you site will attract. Don’t get discouraged. It takes time for the search engines to trust your website. If you are you writing posts that are focused on keywords with traffic and that you can rank for, that is, keywords that are not too competitive and posting content regularly, the traffic will come.

This is the keyword tool I use and recommend: Jaaxy

Success online boils down to consistently doing one small task after another, even when you don’t see the results you hoped for. Search engines move in mysterious ways and people can be fickle.

I encourage you to join Wealthy Affiliate for ongoing training and support.

      All the best,

      Gary

  15. I have heard about sites advertising about purchasing traffic and never thought they would deliver. When I read through the way, this system is set up with an MLM concept and having to buy to get started, and the way the upsells relate it reminds me of other systems I have heard about that have the same platform just a different product.

They also suck the money out of people who get involved with highly over priced so called products that are not worth the money or your time.

    Thanks for the heads up.

    1. Hi, Travis!

Thanks for taking the time to comment. Honestly, I couldn’t find anything good in Traffic Authority. Like you mention, they suck the money out of people.

I’ve learned that any time a company appeals to people’s greed, it’s probably a scam or at the very least over-priced junk.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  16. Great post Gary. Really appreciate you covering this. I do believe it’s important to understand that there are a lot of smart people out there who have determined how to make money on the Internet by scamming those who are trying to determine this. The old adage “if it sounds too good to be true, it probably isn’t” certainly applies here. Almost anything MLM is an immediate Red Flag. Also appreciate your recommendation to WA – there’s such a contrast to how they approach this area legitimately and how others try to fluff it.

    1. Hi, Soloing!

Thanks for stopping by and making the time to comment. I agree, most MLM are to be treated with suspicion. Once in a Blue Moon, I’ll run across an MLM that looks legit, but even then the products are over-priced in my opinion.

For anyone who wants to learn how to really make money online, the WA community is the only place I would recommend. This short video shows how to get started for free.

      All the best,

      Gary
