Is the Six Figure Mentors a Scam?

Six Figure Mentors claim to teach you how to make money online. However, at best, the Six Figure Mentors is a very expensive MLM selling over-priced training packages. Many characteristics of Six Figure Mentors suggest it may be a pyramid scheme. Follow me to see the Devil in the details.

Is the Six Figure Mentors a Scam?

Six Figure Mentors is not what it appears to be. At best, it’s an MLM selling horribly over-priced training packages and coaching. I found no evidence their system works. The Six Figure Mentor earning disclaimer suggests that their system does NOT work for most people.

Is the Six Figure Mentors a Scam?Yes, their website is slick and seductive and yes, the founders Stuart Ross and Jay Kubassek say all the right things. However, if you get involved with Six Figure Mentors, you will waste a lot of time and emotional energy and spend a lot of money. It’s doubtful you will ever break even with their program.

Is the Six Figure Mentors a Pyramid Scheme?

Six Figure Mentors might be a pyramid scheme, much like other schemes I’ve investigated such as MOBE, Aspire Digital, and The Empower Network. Each of these organizations preys on the uninformed who want to make money online. These are dangerous organizations.

The danger in Six Figure Mentors is the large upfront fees. While there are a free membership and a student level, these are just ways to get you into the organization where you will be hammered to go all in and buy the higher levels which cost $20,000 with $2,500 annual fees. You will also need money to pay advertising fees. Financially, you will be steadily marching backward before you make a dime.

Any organization that wants big money from you up front is not your friend. The Six Figure Mentors leadership know that most of their members will drop out after a month or two. This is why they try to squeeze as much money out of you as possible in the beginning.

Imagine borrowing $2,500 or more to play their game only to realize a month or two later that Six Figure Mentors will only keep pushing you to give them more money? There are no refunds. If you give Six Figure Mentors your money, it is gone forever.

The leaders in Six Figure Mentors might be charming as they drive you into debt, but the result is still debt.

About Those So-called Mentors.

It is suspicious that successful marketers said to make six and seven figures a year would want to spend their days mentoring newbies. If they are doing it to give back, why are they charging $2,500+ a year and promoting packages that cost $20,000?

The mentors will always encourage you to buy the next highest level. The truth is, they are not mentors. They are just someone trying to sell the Six Figure Mentors program. They probably don’t know anything more than you do about making money online.

When you join Six Figure Mentors you become a “mentor” to the people you recruit into the program. That’s all there is to a Six Figure mentor.

You Pay to Build THEIR Business!

Six Figure Mentors claim to teach you how to make money online. However, like Huckleberry Finn who made his friends pay him for the privilege of doing his work painting a fence, Six Figure Mentors will make you pay for the privilege of selling Six Figure Mentors products.

In other words, you will be paying Six Figure Mentors big money so you can help them build THEIR business.

If you join Six Figure Mentors, you are betting your future on a rigged game and paying out the nose for it too.

When you join Six Figure Mentors, they lock you into using their tools such as their website builder and landing page builder. You pay for these tools, but you can’t take them with you if you leave. If you leave Six Figure Mentors, you cannot take your business with you either. It’s locked inside Six Figure Mentors!

The truth is, you can buy all the tools and all the training that is offered inside Six Figure Mentors on the internet for about a thousand bucks. You don’t need everything they have, but if you want it, you can get it for a fraction of what they are charging!

Plus, when you buy the tools outside of Six Figure Mentors, you own them! If you build your website outside of Six Figure Mentors, you also own it and have full control of it. No one can take it away from you. That’s the smart way to build an online business.

Ask the FTC.

The United States Federal Trade Commission determines if an organization is a pyramid scheme by several tests. Such tests include whether the organization sells mostly to its members, if the products are irrationally over-priced and if members must buy a product before they can earn commissions from it.

It would require a thorough investigation and legal proceedings to determine if Six Figure Mentors is a pyramid scheme. However, using the FTC criteria, Six Figure Mentors is certainly suspect. (Read about pyramid schemes here)

Learning to make money online the right way does not cost thousands of dollars. A legitimate training program will include everything you need to know, plus support, resources, and tools for about fifty bucks a month. If you pay more, you are being robbed.

Six Figure Mentors is Selling the Dream.

Like most scams, Six Figure Mentors sells you the dream of making lots of money online, achieving financial independence and personal freedom. In this dream, all your worries and sorrows fade away. It’s wonderful.

Unfortunately, while your head is in the clouds, Six Figure Mentors is robbing you blind.

  1. Hi,

    Thank you for your review.

One thing that stuck in my head is when Rev pastor Sumrall preached on networking and pyramid scheme. We have to go to the process of sweat and hard work to be able to climbed on top which was also mentioned in the book of Proverbs in the Bible. He said that the book of Proverbs clearly points out how we can avoid flattery and deception. He points out that if you are being pressured to pay upfront then that is a big ‘NO’ sign.He said that in every deal you have to make in life, whether choosing a spouse, a career or whatsoever, peace is the greatest anchor because Peace comes from the Lord. The other thing i remember he said is using the term ‘secret’, He said, there is no such secret in a transparent and good business. The SFM used the word ‘secret’ in their advert while i was reading it.He said, at times we just signed a contract or membership without reading the full details because they placed the terms and conditions at the very bottom purposely,or they changed the font letters of the ‘Terms and conditions into a small letters/fonts intending to concealed some hidden agendas involved .

  2. I am a numpty that fell for their blurb as I was struggling to make ends meet and needed to earn more money. I have spent a fortune on them and am in a worse position than ever and now that I’ve tried to change my membership to Free Affiliate, I’m struggling to get the monthly subscription they took after I’d cancelled back.

They’re very nice when they’re taking your money but ignore you when you’re trying to get it back. When you’re a prospective cash cow, they answer every call and email but now they owe me money, SILENCE…….

I’ve spent thousands on their training, all of which I could have learnt for free on the net.

    I am a fool but I’ve learnt a lesson.

    1. Hi, RippedOffSFMVictim!

Thank you for sharing the experience you had with Six Figure Mentors. I’m sorry you lost money with them.

Getting scammed, even a little bit hurts, but please do not beat yourself up over it. You are not a fool. You are human and the people promoting Six Figure Mentors are pros at exploiting our human nature. I encourage you to read the book “Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion,” by Dr. Robert Cialdini. Dr. Cialdini studies how scams fool people and he admits he is constantly taken in by scams.

I lost $2,500 to a scam and once purchased a $300 marketing course that was pitched in English but taught in Spanish, a small detail they failed to mention as they took my money. It hurts, but I’m beginning to see it as part of the online education process. Unfortunately, it can be expensive.

Making money online is not as fast or as easy as the people at Six Figure Mentor want you to believe, neither is it as expensive to learn as they want you to believe. My friends and I have put together a free introductory course about online entrepreneurship. The free course gives you a solid education in the fundamentals of online marketing and shows you how to build a profitable online business on a shoestring.

More importantly, you will learn what it takes to succeed with an online business and the work involved. After you finish the free course, if you’re ready to do the work and make it happen for yourself, you will be invited to join our community of online marketers, webmasters, and copywriters for $19 for the first month.

  3. I like the way you point it out these are dangerous organizations.. I’d even up the ante & just put it bluntly – They’re not only dangerous, they’re destructive..

SFM started a while ago, 2010 if I’m correct..
    & they’re still in business?

Yet another typical MLM that offers nothing more than a chain-reaction of glorified upsells & no real product behind it.

It’s shameful how they try to sell it as affiliate business, meanwhile it’s wholly focused on buying & promoting their products & their products only..

    They’re criminals.

It’s important that people are starting to see through those well-made marketing facades.

    1. Hi, Henry!

Thanks for expressing the truth about Six Figure Mentors so succinctly. Like you, I have often wonder how such a corrupt organization can stay in business. It may be because they can afford a team of the best lawyers. However, it does seem that the search engines would de-index them because they do nothing but ruin people’s finances and relationships, if not more.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  4. Hi Gary,
Thanks for the great review of Six Figure Mentors. There are so many scams, pyramid schemes, and MLM plans that are so slick and attractive to the unwary but only take money without producing results.
And thanks for pointing people in the right direction with Wealthy Affiliate, a time proven successful way to make money online without being caught in expensive time wasting scams.
    Ed

  5. Yes, I agree Six Figure Mentors is a scam. To me, as long as a website has a lot of upsells and expensive membership fees, I mostly think it is a scam or a product that should be avoided.
I always wonder, is there anyone who is willing to pay thousands of dollars a year without knowing what is program legitimately is?
Do you know of a good program that is scam-free and really help you get an income?

    1. Hi, Michael!

The way Six Figure Mentors, and programs like it, get people to give them tens of thousands of dollars is by first selling people “The Dream” of financial independence for $49. Once this is achieved, the person experiences the emotion of greed and rational thought is tossed out the window. Then by degrees, like a frog in a simmering pot of water, they are persuaded to purchase the next level and the next.

If you are searching for a legitimate way to make money online, I recommend you enroll in the FREE Online Entrepreneur Certification Training. This course will walk you step by step through the industries best practices for making money online. Once you have this foundation, you’ll know what to do next.

      Thanks for stopping by,

  6. Hi Gary,
Looks like yet another pyramid scheme, as you pointed out. It’s so hard to find a legitimate online business opportunity, everywhere you look, someone is promising these six figures earnings, most of the time with little effort. So, for me, as soon as I saw the name of the company being ‘Six Figure Mentors’, I knew something’s not right about them. And your review just confirmed my suspicions. Thanks for your honesty.
    Zuzana

  7. Very good review Gary . I came across this scam in the past while searching for a legitimate make money online product but that price threw me off. I was with empower network at a time and can see the similar cost here. They aren’t selling you a business at all , like you said they are selling you a dream.

  8. I’ve never heard of these scams that you are reviewing and I am completely dumbfounded that people fall for this kind of stuff.

I’ve tried a couple MLMs throughout my life. I tried ACN. I had a bunch of friends doing it, so I figured why not. After pissing off half of my relatives, I decided it wasn’t for me. Then I got involved with TransAmerica. I totally believed in their products and even made a couple sells and got some commissions. But I just couldn’t take the MLM side of it. I don’t want to pay a bunch of money for an over sized event where people cheer and shout under the guise of training.

Keep doing what you’re doing and steering people to WA. I’ve only been involved with them for less than a month. I watched Kyle’s video training today and was impressed with what he said about how there are no short cuts in life. You can get rich working online, but it’s not an overnight thing and you need to give yourself time to become successful.

    1. Hi, Dustin!

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I tried mightily to make MLM work, but never got very far with it and only spent money and suffered ridicule. It’s a lousy business model, but back in the day, before the internet, it seemed like the only game in town if you wanted to build a business on a shoestring.

Thanks too for reminding us of Kyle’s insight that there are no shortcuts in life. I’ve had tremendous luck building several online businesses and recommend it to everyone. It does take time and commitment, but the rewards are phenomenal.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  9. I hope that the $20,000 membership comes with a high quality product. I better be getting a special house that can talk to me or something. But of course, like all other get rich quick schemes there is no real product to actually work with.

There is only thousands of individuals all selling “empty membership packages” and if there is a product, it is just an out dated e-book containing super old marketing information.

  10. wow — I am so glad I saw this. I am trying to find a way to make money online and was reading about this, and started doing some research and came across this blog. You really pointed out how this is totally a scam, and you’ve saved me so much money! I can’t thank you enough!

  11. Once you hear the term “Six Figures” it just reeks of MLM Marketing.

I’m not the wisest man on the internet, but Internet Marketing 101 tells me that any product promising to make you six figures is something to steer clear of.

A similar product, Six Figure Income, realized people were catching on to this and changed their name to “Strong Future Internal”, so even the product people know that their Pyramid scheme won’t benefit anyone except the people at the top.

    1. Hi, Garth!

You are so right and MLM is NOT the way to go.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  12. That was very interesting and very bold Gary. I commend you for saying it as so many others only ‘think it’. I always asked myself the same question about these so called 7 and 8 figure mentors! If they are doing it to give back, why are they charging $2,500+ a year and promoting packages that cost $20,000? Just that alone had me running for cover so I really appreciate you calling them out. I do hope more people see your post and are saved the great losses they will eventually see.

  13. Hey Gary,

Thanks for reviewing this program, as an online marketer, I am always looking for great training courses. And sometimes it’s very hard to really know which one is really helpful and which isn’t when it comes to the internet. Like this program, Six Figure Mentors, it looks very professional but as I read your review, it doesn’t seem to be worth the price!

    Thanks for sharing!

    Cheers,
    Anh

  14. Hello Gary

Thank you very much for your post! I’m glad there are people like you who warn against these types of ‘gurus’. I have to admit that, in the past, I could have been an easy victim of Six Figure Mentors, in the pursuit of envy life. Now I know where to stay away and it’s thanks to you!

    The best greetings,
    Matt

  15. Hello Gary,

Six Figure Mentors sounds like a product I need to stay as far away as possible from. Those commissions seem awfully low if you ask me.

Is there any real training included when you purchase any of their upgrades? Also, do you have to purchase every single product they sell in order to make money?

    Thanks for sharing,
    Diana

    1. Hi, Diana!

Six Figure Mentors is an MLM and a member is required to buy a level before they can promote that level and earn commissions. You don’t have to purchase every product before you make money, but you will be encouraged to keep buying higher in the organization.

I thought the commissions were low too, especially when you consider the product is digital. If you sold the highest level, which costs $20,000 you get 10% of that as a commission. The rest goes to your upline. In other words, you’re working for them. There’s nothing good to be had with Six Figure Mentors.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary

  16. Hi Gary,
Thank you for alerting us to this scheme, it is hard to believe that there are still websites out there that take advantage of people.the wiliness to place faith in these people that asks for such large amounts of money up front and do not give anything in return.
I like the way you laid out exactly how they get their money up front and then expect people to drop out after 2- 3 months with no refund or return in any of the work they put in, and in return you try to draw other people in to become a “mentors”.
As you say play it safe. Play it smart, check out the site on the FTC. Thank you again for the great information.

  17. You know, Gary, I am constantly amazed at these blatant pyramid schemes and how they get away with it. I am familiar with Digital Altitude (also known as Digital Aspire), and it’s the exact same thing. Like we are supposed to believe that their “training” is worth more than an MBA at a state college?

I think the problem is when these people are caught, they get charged a fine that is far less than they made on their scheme, so they just pay it and go on to the next one. Maybe these scammers need some jail time.

Thanks for alerting us about this scam.

    1. Hi, Andy!

I wish the scammers behind Six Figure Mentors would get some jail time.

Pyramid schemes are like vacuum cleaners sucking up people’s life savings, retirement funds, home equity, credit line and every cent a person can lay their hands on. Pyramid schemes make so much by scamming people, they can hire an army of the best MLM attorneys to defend them and delay legal action for decades.

The difference between an MLM and a pyramid scheme is often nothing more than perspective.

      Thanks for stopping by,

      Gary
